How does the boundary cable work and how long is it?

The boundary cable is laid on the surface of your lawn to define the area the mower should work within. The mower's sensors detect the cable and stay inside the boundary. The included cable is 100 metres long which is sufficient to mark out a perimeter for a garden up to 1,200m². You peg it to the ground around the edges of your lawn including around flower beds or obstacles you want the mower to avoid. No digging is required.

What is the maximum slope this mower can handle?

The mower can handle slopes of up to 30°. That is a fairly steep gradient and covers the vast majority of domestic gardens in the UK. The two large rear wheels feature a spiked outdoor profile specifically designed to maintain traction on grass surfaces including uneven or sloped ground. If your garden has a steeper incline than 30° this mower would not be suitable.

How long does the battery last and how does charging work?

The 22.2V lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 5,200mAh and lasts up to 3 hours on a single charge. When the battery runs low the mower automatically navigates back to its charging station. The charging station is included and plugs into a standard mains socket via a 100 - 240V adapter. The power cord from the station is 2.2 metres long. Once recharged the mower can resume its programme.

What cutting height options are available?

The cutting height is adjustable between 2.5cm and 5.5cm. This range suits most standard lawn types in the UK. A lower setting of 2.5cm gives a neater formal lawn finish while 5.5cm is better suited to hardier or less manicured grass. The adjustment is made via the control panel. There are 2 positions available for height adjustment.

How loud is this robot mower during operation?

The maximum operating noise is 65 dB. To put that in context a normal conversation is around 60 dB and a petrol lawn mower typically produces 90 - 95 dB. At 65 dB you can comfortably sit in the garden while it runs without it being disruptive. It is quiet enough to run during the day without disturbing neighbours in most residential settings.

Is this mower safe to use around children and pets?

The mower has two key safety features. First the lift sensor cuts the blades the moment the unit is picked up or raised off the ground. Second the tilt sensor stops the blades if the mower tips beyond a safe angle. There is also an anti-collision sensor that detects obstacles and changes direction rather than continuing into them. These features significantly reduce the risk of injury but as with any garden machinery it is sensible to supervise young children and pets when the mower is running.

What mowing programmes does it offer and what is the zigzag mode?

There are four mowing programmes: random, along the edges, spiral and zigzag. The zigzag programme uses the ZigZag cutting system which moves the mower in a consistent back-and-forth pattern across the lawn. This is more methodical than random mode and tends to produce more even coverage. Edge mode prioritises the perimeter of the boundary cable area. Spiral mode works outward or inward in a circular pattern. You select programmes via the LCD control panel.

What are the dimensions and weight of the mower and charging station?

The mower itself measures 35cm wide by 23cm tall by 50cm deep and weighs 8kg. The charging station measures 37cm wide by 22cm tall by 59cm deep. The total weight of the complete package including the charging station is 17kg. The mower's compact footprint means the charging station can be positioned along a fence or wall without taking up significant space in the garden.
