Does the Mammotion Yuka Mini 2 1000 need boundary wires installed?

No. This mower uses a 360° × 45° LiDAR sensor combined with an AI Vision system to navigate. It builds a 3D point cloud map of your garden without any physical boundary wires. This saves considerable installation time and means there are no wires to maintain or replace. The detection range reaches up to 60 metres in diameter with ±2cm precision.

What size garden is this mower suitable for?

The mower is rated for gardens up to 1000㎡. In terms of daily output it can cover up to 1600㎡ per day thanks to the 6.1Ah battery and efficient path planning. This makes it well suited to average UK residential gardens and larger plots alike.

How does it avoid obstacles like children's toys or garden furniture?

The LiDAR and AI Vision dual fusion system recognises over 300 types of obstacles. The upgraded AI chip processes 10 trillion operations per second allowing real-time detection and response. It does not just detect static objects it predicts movement and plans avoidance routes accordingly. This means it can navigate around a ball that has rolled onto the lawn or a flowerpot left in its path.

Can it handle slopes in my garden?

Yes. The mower handles slopes up to 45% gradient which equates to approximately 24°. This covers the majority of sloped residential gardens in the UK. It also navigates narrow pathways down to 55cm wide making it practical for gardens with tight passages between borders or structures.

What is DropMow mode and when would I use it?

DropMow mode lets you skip the mapping process entirely. You simply place the mower on the lawn, press Mow & Start and it begins cutting in an N-shaped pattern straight away. The map created during this session is not saved. It is useful for quick one-time cuts, mowing a different area or situations where you need the lawn done without any setup.

How does the battery charging work and can I reduce running costs?

The 6.1Ah battery recharges swiftly and the mower returns to its base automatically when charge is low. You can set a custom charge limit for example 80% which reduces the time the battery spends at full charge and extends its overall lifespan. You can also schedule off-peak charging so the mower only charges during cheaper electricity tariff hours, which can reduce running costs over time.

What cutting height range does it offer and how many blades does it have?

The cutting height is adjustable from 20mm to 60mm giving a range of 4cm to suit different grass types and seasonal preferences. It uses five pivoting razor blades across a 190mm cutting width. Pivoting blades are beneficial because they flex on impact with harder objects rather than snapping, which helps protect both the blades and the mower.

Can I set up no-go zones or restrict it from certain areas of the garden?

Yes. The app allows you to edit the map and add virtual walls, no-go zones and no-stop zones. You can also set up personalised mowing schedules across up to 10 non-continuous mowing zones. The mower also has intelligent cliff and drop detection it automatically identifies steps, pool edges and other drop-off areas and avoids them without any manual input.
