Does the Segway Navimow i215 need boundary wires installed?

No. This is one of its most practical features. Unlike many robot mowers that require you to bury boundary wires around your lawn, the i215 uses Solid State LiDAR and Vision Dual Fusion sensors to map and navigate your garden automatically. You simply place the mower, open the app and tap to start the auto-mapping process. No digging, no wires, no antennas needed.

What size garden is the i215 suitable for?

The i215 is rated for gardens up to 1500m². Per charge it covers approximately 426m² with a runtime of up to 160 minutes. For larger gardens within the 1500m² limit it will simply return to its charging station and continue mowing across multiple sessions automatically. It is well suited to medium to large residential gardens.

Can it handle slopes and uneven ground?

Yes. The i215 is built for challenging terrain. It handles slopes up to 45% gradient using all-terrain off-road wheels and Electronic Stability Control. This is significantly steeper than many competing robot mowers which typically cap out at 25-35%. The 100W motor maintains consistent cutting performance even on steep banks.

How does the navigation work without GPS or satellite signals?

The i215 uses a dual system called Solid State LiDAR and Vision Dual Fusion. The LiDAR sensor builds a precise 3D map of the garden's layout while onboard vision sensors add additional spatial awareness. Because it does not rely on satellite signals it works reliably in all weather conditions and at any time of day or night. Cloud cover, tall buildings and tree canopy do not affect its performance.

What happens if the mower encounters an obstacle like a toy or a pet?

The AI VisionFence system detects over 200 different obstacle types with 1cm accuracy. It will navigate around objects it identifies rather than getting stuck against them or attempting to push through. This includes garden furniture, children's toys and animals. You do not need to clear the lawn completely before every mowing session though removing large items is always sensible practice.

What security features does the i215 have?

Security is well covered. The mower has built-in GPS tracking so you can see its location at any time. A geo-fence alert notifies you if it moves outside a defined area. Lift detection triggers an alarm if someone picks it up. Apple Find My integration is also supported. One year of free Connect Plus cellular connectivity is included which keeps the security features active even without a home Wi-Fi connection nearby.

What cutting height range does the i215 offer?

The cutting height adjusts between 2cm and 7cm with 20 positions available. This range suits most standard lawn types from a tight formal finish at 2cm up to a more relaxed 7cm cut for hardier grass or during dry periods. Height adjustments are made via the app. You can set different cutting heights for different zones within your garden.

What is included in the box and does it need assembly?

The package includes the i215 robot mower and the Garage M protective shelter. Note that the Garage M ships separately as a second parcel. Some assembly is required. The mower weighs 14.7kg and measures 63.5cm x 44.5cm x 28.8cm. The cutting system uses a single disc with 6 blades. Replacement blades are sold separately. One year of Connect Plus cellular service is included free of charge.
