What size garden is this mower suitable for?

The Conga Grasshopper 500 is designed for gardens up to 500m². This is the maximum working area it can cover in a single cycle. If your garden is significantly larger than this, you would need to look at a higher-capacity model. For gardens at or below 500m², it is well suited to maintaining a neat, consistent cut automatically.

Does it require a perimeter cable to be installed?

Yes. A perimeter cable is required and must be laid around the boundary of your lawn before the mower can operate. This cable defines the working area and keeps the mower within your garden. The good news is that the app includes a perimeter cable status assistant, which monitors the cable in real time and tells you exactly where any fault or break has occurred saving you from having to walk the entire boundary to find the problem.

How steep a slope can it handle?

The mower can handle slopes of up to 45%. This is a steep gradient and covers the majority of residential gardens in the UK. Many robot mowers at this price point are limited to 25 - 35% slopes, so the 45% capability is a notable advantage for gardens with significant inclines or banks.

How loud is it during operation?

C-ToF stands for a route-calculation technology that maps the working area and determines the most efficient mowing path before the mower begins cutting. Rather than navigating randomly which is how many budget robot mowers work the Grasshopper 500 cuts in a systematic, orderly pattern. This means the job gets done faster, no areas are missed and the mower makes fewer unnecessary passes across the same ground.

What happens if the mower hits an obstacle?

The floating cutting system is designed to adapt to surface irregularities automatically. If the mower encounters a physical obstacle it cannot navigate around, the cutting blades raise automatically to avoid damage both to the obstacle and to the blades themselves. The mower will then attempt to navigate around the obstruction and continue mowing. This is a useful safety feature for gardens where garden furniture, toys or other items may occasionally be left on the lawn.

How heavy is the mower and is it easy to move around?
