What size lawn is the Gardena SILENO city 250 suitable for?

This mower is designed for lawns up to 250m². That's a small to mid-sized garden. If your lawn is significantly larger than this the mower will struggle to keep up as it only provides 65 minutes of mowing per charge before returning to its base to recharge. For lawns well under 250m² it will comfortably manage the area on a regular automated schedule.

Can it handle slopes and uneven ground?

Yes. The mower handles inclines of up to 25%. That's a reasonably steep gradient and covers most typical residential garden slopes. However if your garden has very sharp transitions between flat and sloped sections or extremely uneven terrain you should check that the boundary wire can be laid effectively before purchasing.

How loud is it during operation?

The noise level is 58dB(A) which Gardena describes as best-in-class. For reference a normal conversation between two people is roughly 60dB. This means the mower is genuinely quiet and can operate without causing significant disturbance. It's well suited to gardens close to neighbours or properties where noise is a concern.

Does it work in wet weather?

Yes. The mower is fully waterproof and will continue mowing in rain. This is a practical advantage because it means the mower can stick to its schedule regardless of British weather. If it gets muddy or dirty it can be cleaned directly with a garden hose without any risk of damage to the unit.

How does the Bluetooth app control work?

The mower connects to the Gardena Bluetooth App on your smartphone. This allows you to control the mower from up to 10 metres away. You can use the app for scheduling, configuration and remote start. Online registration is required to use the app. The app also supports EasyApp Control, Auto Schedule and EasyConfig for straightforward setup without needing to use the physical keypad for every setting.

What's included in the box?

The package includes the mower itself, 150 metres of boundary wire, 200 hooks for fixing the wire to the ground, 4 couplers, 5 connectors, a charging station with a UK plug and an English user manual. Assembly is required you'll need to lay the boundary wire around your lawn perimeter before the mower can operate. Note that some users have reported quality issues with the connectors so inspect them carefully on arrival.

How does the anti-theft protection work?

The mower uses a personal four-digit PIN code. If someone picks up the mower and tries to use it without entering the correct PIN it will not operate. This won't stop a determined thief from physically removing the unit but it does make the mower useless to anyone who doesn't know the code. It's a straightforward and effective deterrent for opportunistic theft.

How long does the battery take to charge and how long does it last per session?

The 18V 2.1Ah lithium-ion battery charges in approximately 60 minutes. Once charged it provides around 65 minutes of mowing time. The mower returns to its charging station automatically when the battery runs low. Over a month the mower uses approximately 4 kWh of electricity which is very low running cost. The charging station placement is flexible so you can position it in a convenient spot within your garden.
