Does the Segway Navimow i205 AWD require a boundary wire?

No. This is one of its key advantages over older robot mower technology. It uses EFLS Network RTK combined with Vision positioning to map and navigate your garden without any physical boundary wire. Setup is handled entirely through the app using one-tap auto mapping. The system achieves centimetre-level accuracy and works even under trees or in narrow passages areas where GPS-only systems often struggle.

What slope gradient can it handle?

The i205 AWD is rated for slopes up to 45% that's 24°. It achieves this through a three-wheel drive system with an automotive-grade Electronic Stability Control that actively stabilises the mower on inclines. Most standard robot mowers are rated to around 20 - 25% slopes so this is a meaningful step up for gardens with significant gradients or uneven terrain.

How large a lawn can it manage?

Segway recommends this model for lawns up to 500m². On a single battery charge it can cover 125m². The 2.55Ah battery powers the mower through its cutting cycle and when charge runs low it returns to the dock automatically then resumes from exactly where it left off. Over the course of a day it can cover approximately 125m² per charge cycle.

What is included in this bundle?

This bundle includes the i205 AWD robotic mower itself along with the Garage S (shipped separately), a charging station and installation kit, an antenna installation kit, 5 replacement blades and 5 bolts and 4 pegs for fixing the extension cord. The Garage S provides weatherproof shelter for the mower and charging station which helps protect the unit during heavy rain or frost.

Does it need a cellular data plan to work?

The mower uses Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity. Cellular data via the Connect Plus service is included free for the first year. After that there may be a charge for continued cellular connectivity. During the free period Network RTK positioning data is also provided at no additional cost. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth remain available regardless of the cellular subscription status.

How loud is it during operation?

It operates at 59dB. To put that in context a normal conversation is around 60dB and a petrol lawn mower typically runs at 90 - 95dB. This means the i205 AWD can run at times when a conventional mower would be antisocial early mornings or evenings without causing significant disturbance to neighbours or household members.

Can it handle gardens split into multiple separate areas?

Yes. The mower supports up to 20 separate mowing zones. It uses automatic path optimisation to work through each zone efficiently and seamlessly transitions between areas. After returning to its charging station mid-session it picks up from the last position rather than starting again. This makes it well suited to gardens with separate lawns divided by paths, driveways or planting beds.

What are the cutting height and width options?

The cutting width is 18cm using a single disc with 5 blades. Cutting height is manually adjustable across 5 positions ranging from 2cm to 6cm. This range suits most standard lawn types. The 18cm cutting width is narrower than some larger robot mowers but the systematic path-based navigation means it still achieves consistent coverage without missed strips unlike random-pattern mowers that rely on statistical coverage over time.
